Florida Resorts at Florida Accommodations

A Florida resort is a business establishment that provides overnight lodging accommodations for the public. A resort's basic service is to supply a room to sleep in. Most resorts also have at least one restaurant. Many resorts offer rooms and services for meetings, and some have shops and offer entertainment. Resorts range in size from large buildings with more than 3,000 rooms to small inns that have as few as 8 to 10 rooms. Small resorts do not offer the range of services provided by the large establishments. However, rooms and meals at most small inns generally cost less than those at large resorts.

Most Florida resorts occupy one multistory building that has a central lobby on the main floor. Guests reach their rooms through the lobby. Resorts may consist of one or more buildings and always include a parking lot. Guests can enter their rooms directly from the lot. Many lodging operations offer both full resort services and valet parking.

Resolved Question: Are my sister's impression of the US accurate? she makes it sound so backwater?

We are from Colombia though we grew up in Switzerland, my sister recently came back from the US from studying..... prior to this we only went to the US on holiday with mother to NYC or to some resort somewhere in Florida or California.... I recall going a lot to a place called Martha's vineyward and Keywest. So to make the story short, my sister resided in the US for one year in the Raleigh / Cary NC area with the purpose of going to school there.... Upon returning, she portrays America as a very surrealistic place, her impressions of the place is that is a horribly backwater twilight zone. She recalls that a very large number of Americans live in enormous mcmansions, cheaply built and made outta wood and incredibly overpriced, that gives them the impression of wealth eventhough they owe it all to the bank.... everyone's racist towards each other.... blacks hate whites, asians hate everyone who isn't white, Indians are racist and classist towards anyone who is not white, mexicans hate everyone who isn't mexican and whites hate everyone equally!!! To a lot of Americans she claims, the only dream they have is owning a huge mcmansion in some dead suburbia depleted of minorities miles and miles away from any city center, because it's "safer" they believe.... where you have to drive for miles just to be able to buy toilet paper at the closest walmart.... and for entertainment, browse the internet, or go to the shopping mall!!! she told me American women were very mean towards her, because my sister is relatively pretty and we're economically ok..... so my sister grew up to become very classy, to appreciate fine cuisine, nice fashion, she does yoga, speak four languages etc..... Well that is a personal trait most American women didn't take very lightly, they thought my sister was being uppity and they turned into complete b1tches towards my sister because of that, so she was at odds with most females in the US, so my sister resumed to hanging out with the international crowd of students mostly from Africa, Europe and South America. She claims while international students complained Americans were all too backwards and uninteresting, most American students were busy trying to live a so called university lifestyle partying and sleeping around because that's what one is supposed to do when one goes to college. She lived in India for twelve months and met lots of friendly nice people, she still has Indian friends from that time, well in the US she told me American Indians have a ridiculous hollier than thou attitude that is being born outta a profound inferiority complex in reference to white American people..... and as for white Americans are in no way or form similar to Europeans at all (we live in Switzerland)... my sister told me they're kinda pathetic, they themselves are very backwards and full of sexual hang ups, with mindsets set on puritanism, weird concepts of purity and religion.... very provincial about the world beyond their borders.... she told me it's very easy for a person to fool them, they are very naive provincial people. she told me the average American works like an animal!!!! 60 hours plus a week and on the days off they just stay home in the sterile suburbias sitting there wondering why life sucks so much or browsing the net. She told me that outside NYC, Washington DC and two or three large cities, the US is pretty much a recollection of acultural new money desperate to gain a social status they simply lack..... they get in debt so they can buy shinny wasteful giant cars, big houses and lots of cheaply made in China junk to feel like they're wealthy and are indeed living the American dream, but in reality most of them are simply pathetic slaves to a system that sucks their blood dry and then discard them when no longer needed. I don't know why, but it sounds like a God aweful place to live. Is she accurate though?

Resolved Question: What are some funny/stupid things you used to believe as a kid?

Ah, children! They're so gullible! Being new to the world, they often believe anything you tell them, and then they also come up with some rather amusing theories themselves. I'm sure we all believed/thought something or the other as a kid which we know is ridiculous now. Here's a list of some of the things I used to think/believe as a 90s kid: -Used to think toys came alive at night because my mother told me, and the Toy Story movie didn't help, lol. -Used to think that the album art for Nevermind by Nirvana was the Water Babies movie. -Used to think that the 'real' Mickey Mouse only lived at the Disneyland Paris resort, not the Florida one. -Used to think that if I crawled around the floor on all fours for long enough, I would lose the ability to walk on two legs. -Used to think Growlithe was the only real Pokemon after I saw a chow chow dog. -Used to think Michael Jackson was a woman. -Someone told me that the Spice Girls were serial killers and I would always used to cry when they came on the TV, lmao! -Used to think The Smashing Pumpkins were people who went around smashing pumpkins in order to make pumpkin squash. -Used to think zombies were going to break in in the night and eat me after playing Resident Evil (I was like 4 or 5). @Manjit, lmao, I forgot to add it to my list, but I used to believe that as well. Thanks for all the answers! I think I'm going to have to let this go into voting though as I can't pick just one best answer.

Resolved Question: Does the MacBook Air Wi-Fi work with all routers (AirTran Wi-Fi, Disney World Resort Wi-Fi, etc.)?

I am going to Florida in 10 days and I am wondering, does the MacBook Air Wi-Fi work with Disney World Resorts' Free Wi-Fi and AirTran's Wi-Fi? I went to Big Boy yesterday and for some reason my Mac wouldn't connect to their internet, the "AirPort" thing on my MacBook Air said that it couldn't connect. I just want to make sure it works when I go on vacation and on the plane. By the way I have Mac OS X Snow Leopard, if that changes something. Thanks in advance! Yesterday there wasn't even a passcode, but it wouldn't connect. Well, it connected, but there was an exclamation point on the wifi icon at the top and it was saying that there was no internet access.
